Planning your visit should feel as smooth as getting onto one of our inflatables. This FAQ brings together the answers to our most common questions, helping you get the most out of your day, whether you’re curious about booking, safety gear, session times, or what to bring along. Dive in and find everything you need to know before you arrive.
Spectators are very welcome. There are benches available, and of course, if you wish, you can bring your own deck chair. Please make sure any spectators come ready for the weather on the day, as it is outdoor spectating.
Well-socialised dogs are very welcome, but please make sure they are kept on a lead, as some children (and adults) can be very nervous around dogs, and dogs can become agitated with children shouting excitedly.
If it is raining, the aquapark session will still go ahead. Spectators need to come prepared for the wet weather, as there is not an indoor or covered spectator area.
If there is thunder in the forecast, it is usually for the general region and the forecasters can’t be so exact as to pinpoint it to a specific location. On that basis, the sessions are scheduled as normal, and if we are unlucky to have thunder and lightning in our immediate area, we will delay the sessions until it passes. That may mean we run a bit late on such days.
Yes, there is food and drink available to purchase in our aquashack! We provide a variety of menu items. Some popular favourites are our steak burgers and gourmet hotdogs! We do also provide kids’ meals.
We do not allow picnics within the fenced off area of the aquapark, as we have our own catering facilities. However, if you plan to bring a cold picnic, there is plenty of grassed area on the banks of the lake outside of the aquapark area. We just ask that it is left tidy and rubbish disposed of. We do not allow BBQs or any outside catering supplies or services (e.g. pizza deliveries or any food cooked on site) anywhere at the Gildenburgh site.
If this is a birthday party, we are happy for you to bring a cake into the aquapark.
Yes, all participants must be aged 6 or above to enter the water. If children look younger than 6, staff may query this, so please bring ID to confirm their age. Additionally, children aged 6-11 will need to be accompanied by an adult on the aquapark at all times. We operate a 1:2 adult to child ratio.
We provide wetsuits and bouyancy aids to accomodate all sizes, from our junior small suits to XXXL adult suits.

Yes, everyone must book ahead of arrival. If it is an on-the-day booking you will not be able to book through our website, so please contact us via phone(01733 351288 or 07955 724269) to check our availability. Due to a large volume of customers we do not accept walk ins, so please call ahead to avoid disappointment.
We suggest participants wear appropriate swimwear which will not hinder or restrict your movement. We also highly recommend participants wear a wetsuit which we provide, to stay warmer and avoid friction burns. Wetsuits are optional for adults in the warmer weather, but mandatory for children under the age of 12 at any time during the season. Bouyancy aids are mandatory for all participants.
If high winds are forecast we may need to shut specific obstacles for your safety. If the wind is too strong we may need to reschedule bookings for another day. We will provide as much notice as possible in such circumstances.
For safety reasons, the number of lifeguards on duty is in proportion to the number of participants on the aquapark. Therefore, unfortunately we are unable to offer free places for carers. However, we have group discounts, as well as occasional special offers where you would be able to purchase a discounted ticket.
We can’t allow people with certain medical conditions on the aquapark. These include: pregnancy, epilepsy, any injuries, medical conditions, diseases or illness which may be aggravated by participating in water sport activities. As this activity involves getting onto inflatable obstacles, all participants should be confident in their ability to engage in relatively strenuous exercise.

If you are running late, we will try and fit you in for a later time. If you have an emergency and can’t make it at all, we will try and arrange a later date for you. We sell aquagrip socks which you can preorder online when making your booking, or these are available to purchase on arrival. We recommend participants to wear aquagrip socks as they make moving around the aquapark easier, but these are not mandatory and it is perfectly fine for participants to go on the aquapark with bare feet. We do not allow participants to wear any type of hard soled aquashoes as they can cause damage to the aquapark.
Participants can bring their own wetsuit to wear on the aquapark if they would like to. Participants may wear their own lifejacket provided that it is CE approved to 50 newton metres (NM). If the buoyancy aid does not meet this requirement we cannot allow it to be worn on the aquapark.
